BR sweet iron double jointed bevel bit (also known as loop ring or wilkie snaffle) is made of solid stainless steel combined with a layer of sweet iron on the mouthpiece (blue). The mouthpiece features brass rings, which give the horse something to play with. As a result, the horse will be more willing to "let go” of the bit. The coating of sweet iron on the mouthpiece will naturally stimulate salivation. When this material reacts with moisture, warmth and air in a process called oxidation, the surface rust tastes sweet, which supports better acceptance of the bit. The bit applies normal pressure on the mouth. Mouthpiece thickness 13 mm, ring size 65 mm.
